LTE , an abbreviation for Long-Term Evolution , commonly marketed as 4G LTE , is a standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. Safaricom recently launched this service in Kenya. Before you think of moving to it, it's good to know what to expect and what not to expect.
To begin with the current coverage is limited to small areas. If you ara a common traveler, dont use it..u will be disappointed. LTE uses data network only for allits communication. This means you have to use 3rd party software for call and sms ie.skype, hangout ,whatsapp etc. This may somehow limit u in no of people to talk to though safaricom may come up with a way to bridge the gap.
LTE comes with is own advantages too. If you like surfing or spend most of your time online, this is a fast and cheap way to do it. With speeds of upto 100mbps you can do anything online.
