How To Record Desktop Screen Video Using Vlc

In ths tutorial we will learn how to record desktop video using vlc media player. You dont need to be a geek to do this just need basic computer skills.

1. Download latest version of vlc media player from video lan website or any other trusted site.You dont need to download a new one if you have already installed one.
2. Open vlc and select media from the tool bar. Then select convert/save. (the shortcut is ctr+r)



3. A new window will pop up. Go to the capture device tab. Set capture mode to desktop and change frame rate. Frame rate of more than 15 f/s is the best.
   Then click on convert/save button.



4. In the next window, you will select saving location of the file and file name. You can also change the video profile but its of no harm if left the way it is.



5. Once you click save, the video will start recording.


You can minimize vlc and open whatever you wanted to record. You can pause recording by using pause button on vlc. When you are done recording, press stop button.
You can then navigate to the directory you saved the file and try opening it. You may now share the file or polish it using a video editor.
