Its not a must to pay monthly subscription for digital tv

Consumer minds are being confused by both dealers and providers of digital content. For instance most people i have interacted with think digital tv is Gotv, zuku, Star Times and DStv. Well thats just a small bit of it there is more to that. Signet is also a digital content provider. The company is own by the government brodcaster KBC and unlike others it does not have any case aganist it.
The main issue with us Kenyans is with the money. So let us try and save it here. When you walk into a set top box dealer shop, they will excite you with good beals some going even to 100 bob. If you dont plan on monthly payment dont touch those. Ask for the free to air set top box. For now the cheapest i have seen is hotpoint  worth below 4k. CA provide a list of all approved set top boxes , dealers and cost.
However if once in a while you may thin of subscribing, then star times is the way to go. And dont get cheated buy the expensive one because it also has free to air channels
