Its not a must to pay monthly subscription for digital tv

Consumer minds are being confused by both dealers and providers of digital content. For instance most people i have interacted with think digital tv is Gotv, zuku, Star Times and DStv. Well thats just a small bit of it there is more to that. Signet is also a digital content provider. The company is own by the government brodcaster KBC and unlike others it does not have any case aganist it.
The main issue with us Kenyans is with the money. So let us try and save it here. When you walk into a set top box dealer shop, they will excite you with good beals some going even to 100 bob. If you dont plan on monthly payment dont touch those. Ask for the free to air set top box. For now the cheapest i have seen is hotpoint  worth below 4k. CA provide a list of all approved set top boxes , dealers and cost.
However if once in a while you may thin of subscribing, then star times is the way to go. And dont get cheated buy the expensive one because it also has free to air channels

A Shift In Kenya Mobile Market

Equity bank kenya resently joined the mobile market using its subsidiary company, Equitel. This caused some tention with the industry giants petitioning about its entry and strategies.
Equitel promised to offer subsidised call rated. The hard part thats taking industry giant, safaricom, back to the drawing board is the question on mobile money. Safaricom has enjoyed huge profits from this area for a long time. Equitel on the other hand is promising subsidized rates as well as integration to ones equity bank account.
Equitel,.has a strategy i call brain drain. With its thin sim, users will enjoy their old services but get drowned by the attractive Equitel services. Airtel on the other hand is trying to increase its market share by acquiring yu customers, but do number of customers really matter where most of us have several sim cards?
Well lets watch and see. May the best offer win.

Pure business

Now that the deal between Microsoft and Nokia is sealed, i am left with several question which if i had a chance i would ask the ceos' for both companies.
The full acquisition will see lumia and asha brand transferred to Microsoft. What about nokia x??? What will happen to the android devices.??
Will we have Nokia x which is branded Microsoft?? How would that advert look like?? Both android and Microsoft logos..
Will Microsoft contribute to android open source?? Yea this will be my major question.

yu mobile to be sold to two kenya mobile giants

kenya based yu mobile owned by esser telcom, is to be sold to the two leading companies in the same field. The deal will see Safaricom, the leading company in subscribers, and Airtel Kenya, which is part if the larger Airtel, give a total of sh 8.6 billion.
It seems impossible for two rival competitors to undertake a deal together, but it's kind of "chamaa business". The two are to buy it to prevent another rival from joining the industry with established customers. As per the agreement, safaricom will buy the technical assets while airtel gets the yu prefix, 075..
This deal seems to favour both since airtel is looking to add subscribers, which it will since all yu mobile users will be directly acquired by airtel. Safaricom will benefit from improving its coverage by the new acquired assets.
Though the deal is not yet complete, due to formal and legal process and a court case filed by yu employees questioning of their job status, there will be a reduction in number of mobile operators from four to three. but this will be for a short while since more are expected to join soon.

whatsapp vs Facebook

as everybody is amazed by the fact that Facebook is buying whatsapp which is owned by an employee they rejected, i have a concern on changes we will have from whatsapp. Though the terms of agreement are that whatsapp runs independently, i have a feeling that they will be changed. An accusation of 19$ billion yet they say it will remain unchanged... No way Facebook need that money back. And considering the fact that whatsapp doesn't sell adverts,1$ per year for the ½billion users wount be enough.
as a way of getting back their money,fb may intoduce adverts in whatsapp..making it boring ..

no hating just being business minded.
